Hello Everyone! My name is Jenifer Stuart and I feel honored to introduce myself as the 2013 Philomath Frolic and Rodeo Queen. I’ve lived in Philomath since the age of nine, and graduated from PHS with the class of 2010. I am currently attending LBCC studying Animal Science in hopes to become a large animal veterinarian someday. My love and passion for working with horses has led me to this career path. I have a special interest in the field of Forestry as well, and have worked for the Oregon Department of Forestry as a Wild land firefighter for the past four summers. I live for the excitement and adventures it brings! This is one of the many reasons I decided to try out for rodeo queen. I wanted to experience the thrill of traveling to rodeo’s around the Northwest with my Quarter Horse, Breeze, and being a representative of the amazing rodeo our community hosts the 2nd full weekend in July, the Philomath Frolic and Rodeo!
I encourage everyone to come frolic and celebrate the 60th annual PF&R with us this year! There will be loads of fun filled activities and entertainment for you and the whole family July 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th. Just a few of the events this weekend will include are four exciting Northwest Professional Rodeo Association sanctioned rodeos, including Rodeo Announcer Scott Allen, Barrelman JJ Harrison, and B bar D Rodeo stock, all whom were voted NPRA’s “Best of the Year”, The Grand Street Parade, Beef and chicken barbeques, Crafts booths, Drill Team performances, Friday & Saturday night dances with live music, Mutton bustin’ competitions, Donkey races and much much more! Thanks to hard work from community members and volunteers you’ll also be able to enjoy the rodeo on our freshly renovated grand stands!
I am excited for the new endeavors I will experience during my reign this year and am looking forward to the challenge of trying something new. I hope to make a positive impact on our great little community, and I would like to encourage everyone else to do the same. I look forward to seeing you all at the Philomath Frolic and Rodeo this summer!
