2018 Saturday Event Schedule

This is the 2017 event schedule.  The 2018 schedule is still being pulled together; however, we try to keep events at similar times from year to year, so we don’t anticipate many changes from previous years.

PIONEER TELEPHONE COOPERATIVE DAY

6:30 – 9:30 am  Philomath Lions Club Annual Rodeo Breakfast
Featuring pancakes, ham, eggs and beverage.  Cost $7.00 (all you can eat).

10:00 am  The Grand Parade
Sponsored by Philomath Rental
Featuring Grand Marshall:  Paul and Lola Skirvin.  Parade registration/check in is at 7:00 am in is at the middle school parking lot entrance.  The combined children’s and grand parade will head west on Applegate.  The parade will disband after turning down 11th St. and into the rodeo grounds.

  • Check in for pre-registration is at 7 a.m., and the fee is $10.00.
  • Proof of insurance required for horse entries.

8:00 am – 3:00 pm Classic Car Show 
Held at City Park and hosted by the Philomath Chamber of Commerce. Free Admission.

11:00 am – 1:00 pm  Mary’s Peak Search and Rescue Chicken Barbecue
Held at the Rodeo Grounds.  Half a chicken, salad and beverage.

12:00 pm – 3:00 pm  Philomath Frolic & Rodeo and Miss Rodeo Oregon Luncheon
Lunch, modeling and interviews.  Ticket required for lunch.

12:00 pm – 11:00 pm  Carnival Rides & Games
Provided by Rainier Amusements
Tickets are $1.25 each or 20 for $22.
Unlimited ride arm bands are $25 or just $20 if purchased before July 7th.  Order online or purchase at participating ticket outlets.

2:00 pm – 6:00 pm  Kid’s Corner
Sponsored by R & T Logging and Spaeth Lumber & Home Center
Features a petting zoo, Mutton Bustin’ and more.  No Charge.

3:00 pm – 6:00 pm Professional Lumberjack Competition
Sponsored by
Located beneath the twin poles at the rodeo grounds.  The professionals will be in town to compete for cash prizes in events such as the single buck, springboard buck and the always exciting hot saw event.  Free admission.

4:00 pm – 6:00 pm  PYAC Fish Rodeo
Sponsored by Crop Production Services
No poles or hooks needed … use your bare hands to catch one of 200 live fish in our giant kiddy pool!  Kids 12 & under only. You catch it, we’ll grill it up for you.  Prizes for fastest catch of the day.  $8 per ticket.
