Parade

The Philomath Frolic and Rodeo, Inc. would like to invite you to participate in our 55th Annual Parade on July 12th, 2008. The Kid's Parade starts at 10:15 a.m., with the Main Street Parade directly after. There is no pre-registration for the Kid's Parade. Judging at 9:30 a.m., sharp!

Entry Fee: An entry fee of $7.00 is charged per individual entry and an additional charge of $2.00 per vehicle. Please write your check payable to Philomath Frolic & Rodeo and return with entry form. Entry fee must be paid prior to or at time of registration. (Click Here for Entry Form)

Registration: (Horse entries see below), 7:00 a.m., at Student First Bus Company on North 19th. All non-horse entry participants must obtain lineup number at the registration table. All non-horse entry participants must approach North 19th via West Hills Road. West Hills connects at 53rd Street (Corvallis) and 9th Street (Philomath). Participants will not be allowed to go north on North 19th after 8:00 a.m.

Parade Lineup/Assembly: Corresponding registration number will be on east side of North 19th St. West side of North 19th must be kept open for parade officials. Vehicles must not block west side (decorating helpers, participants, etc.)

Horse Entries: Horses will be registered and assembled on North 19th between College and Student First Bus Barns. All horse entries must approach the horse registration assembly area via West Hills Road. West Hills Road connects at 53rd Street (Corvallis) and 9th Street (Philomath). Trailer parking and formation will be on west side of North 19th in designated area. All entrants under 9 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times. All tack must be clean, in good repair, and properly fitted. Horses must be kept under control at all times or will be asked to leave parade. Evidence of insurance for both bodily injury and property liability with combined single limits of $1,000,000 (each occurrence/aggregate) is required of all horse entries.

Judging: 9:00 a.m., in formation. All entries are to be fully assembled by 9:00 a.m. Judging will begin at 9:00 a.m., no exceptions. No entries registering the morning of the parade will be judged. No entries will be allowed to participate in the parade unless assembled by 9:00 a.m.

Parade Route: South on North 19th, right on Main, right on 12th, right on College. Parade will continue back to North 19th & College where you will be allowed to turn left. Please stay as far to the right side of College when headed back toward 19th so that emergency vehicles may get through if needed.

Parade Safety Tips: Proceed slowly through parade - leave approximately 20' - 30' between entries. Any entries having difficulties must move to the side of the street so others may pass. Abusive language will not be tolerated. Candy or other items are not to be thrown from a moving vehicle. Parade participants may walk along their entry and toss candy to the parade watchers. These participants must be close enough to the curb that the children do not leave the curb. Do not litter (someone must pick up the litter you have left). Compliance with our safety standards is expected. Your entry will be removed from the parade at the discretion of the Parade/Police Officials.

Release Form: Along with the entry form, we have also attached a form releasing the Philomath Frolic & Rodeo Inc., from any liability from negligence on the part of the participant while partaking in the parade. Entries will be accepted up till the day of the parade.
